New Schell fitting combines important functions:

Integrated filter also for angle-stop combination valves

The latest development from the fittings manufacturer Schell has met an urgent requirement of many fitters of sanitary installations, bringing onto the market an angle stop valve of a kind never seen before: the new Schell angle stop combination valve is a useful combination of an angle stop valve with filter and an appliance connection valve. Like an angle stop combination valve already in frequent use, the angle stop combination valve with filter can be used to connect a sink or a washstand fitting and a washing machine or dishwasher at the same time. This new solution also scores in matters of drinking water hygiene because the integrated basket filter is effective in preventing particles of dirt reaching the sanitary draw-off fittings.

Not only do such impurities contaminate the quality of the drinking water, they also shorten the life of the valuable draw-off fittings in particular. The basket filter is located in the smaller handle between the connection for the draw-off fitting and the larger service shut-off handle for the washing machine or dishwasher. Made of top-quality plastic, it keeps its shape and is resistant to ageing, thereby offering significant advantages over standard sieve inserts made of stainless steel mesh. In order to clean the filter the angle stop valve must first be turned off. Using a coin or a screw-driver the filter is then simply unscrewed from inside the handle, rinsed briefly under running water and replaced in the same way.

The new Schell angle stop combination valve with filter is made of chrome-plated full brass. It meets all the requirements of the new drinking water regulation and those of noise emission standard I. The fitting is temperature resistant to 90 °C and can therefore be installed on either the cold water or the hot water side. In order to guarantee full drinking water protection, both angle valves of a washbasin or sink installation should always be fitted with a filter. There is a suitable "standard" filter for this purpose in the Schell range.

The Schell angle stop combination valve with filter can be fitted or exchanged with a standard angle valve in just a few hand movements. The fitting has a cone compression connection and length compensation, guaranteeing a safe connection - even with flexible hose lines. The appliance connection has a screwed hose fitting. The tried and tested brass spindle with O-ring seal used for all Schell filter angle valves is used here too. This guarantees long-term smooth movement and many years of convenient operation. Ergonomically designed handles add to the ease of use. Further information may be obtained from Schell GmbH & Co.
